Edward is the first to graduate from college in his family. He is a dedicated husband, father of three, and believes it’s crucial to be of service to his community. He speaks with passion, vision, and clarity about his life’s journey and the importance of education, community, and family. Edward believes that through faith, sacrifice, and forgiveness we can learn to be inspired when an ordinary opportunity thrusts us into extraordinary events and experiences. He also believes hard work and determination are key to success when the odds are against you.
Edward serves his community through organizations that address issues surrounding family, education, and youth. Some of his immediate past and present public service includes Texas Baptist Children Home Board, Round Rock Chamber Board of Director’s, Emergency Services District #9: Treasurer, Boys and Girls Club of Georgetown Advisory Board, CrossWork Christian Center Trustee & Steward, Ascend Leadership Class: Chair, Williamson County Metro YMCA Board, CHASCO YMCA Advisory Board, Round Rock Council of PTA’s: Scholarship Chair and was a member of the Round Rock ISD Safety and Security Task Force. Edward L. Hanna served as a Round Rock ISD Board of Trustee and he continues to serve in the district as a mentor, volunteer of RRISD PTA council & at his daughter’s high school. He also is a 2011-2015 Graduate of Ascend Leadership Class of Round Rock and Round Rock ISD Leadership Class 2015-2016.
Edward came to his current position as Vice President of Commercial Banking at BBVA nine years ago after gaining experience as a Small Business Banker and Credit Analyst at BBVA. Prior to BBVA Edward gained professional experience as Finance Director and Software Consultant. BBVA is an international bank with a community presence, recently recognized for outstanding Community Development Loan performance by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, investing in low to moderate-income neighborhoods focusing on lending, investments, social impact, and philanthropy. Edward earned an Undergraduate Degree in Business from Prairie View A&M University and started his education at Blinn Community College in 1997 earning an Associate of Science Degree. In his spare time Edward enjoys family trips, reading, and cooking.
